Regia Calendar

The Regia watch is inspired by the Sarmizegetusa Regia Calendar, one of the most precise ancient calendar.
The calendar was named after the capital of the Dacians, Sarmizegetusa Regia, and was believed to have been used from the 1st century BCE until the 1st century CE. It is believed that the calendar was carefully designed and constructed to align with the natural rhythms of the earth and sky.

Sarmizegetusa

The Sarmizegetusa Regia calendar is an ancient calendar system used by the Dacians in Transylvania. The calendar was based on a lunar-solar cycle, combining the phases of the moon with the movement of the sun. The Sarmizegetusa Regia calendar is an important contribution to the history of calendar systems and timekeeping.

Duality

The Sarmizegetusa Regia Calendar is subtly represented on the dial as well as on the caseback. The circle on the dial is a continuation of the engraved circle on the caseback representing the principle of duality matched perfectly from the dial to the caseback creating a supreme unity.

Design Cues

The Regia timepiece has unique design elements that pay homage to the ancient calendar system. The date window is positioned at 12H to emphasize the main function of the dacian calendar.
